With this issue the Drachen Foundation resumes publication of a bimonthly newsletter, to be e-mailed on the first Thursday of odd-numbered months. We hope you will find it a useful update about the ways in which Drachen is currently serving the kite community.

1/15 - Skinner tiles model & Fujino engineers miniature kite for “Divide Light” component of Paper in Flight project
1/28 - KAP Program, 2-5 pm, Miller Community Center, Seattle, free and open to the public. KAP demonstration and lecture; reception for winner of Young Explorer Field Experience competition.
2/1 - The first article about DF archive items appears in Kitelife, a bimonthly online magazine
2/10 - DF Touring Exhibit Surf the Wind opens at Catawba Science Center, Hickory, North Carolina.
2/14 - Skinner, Fujino, and videographer Matthew Stubbs travel to Pasir Gudang to photo document Malaysian kite culture and conduct a conservation assessment of kite collections.
2/15 - DF Touring Exhibits Kites to Kitty Hawk and Mini Kites: World on a Thread open at SW Michigan College, Dowagiac, Michigan.
2/15-17 - The Kite Rider and The Kite Fighters projects piloted with fourth & fifth grade reading group students at Roxhill Elementary, Seattle.
Featured Archive Item: The Blue Hill Box Kite
